Daily Devotional

Topic: God wants good for you
Bible Passage: Genesis 47:27-31
“Thus Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the land of Goshen and they gained possession in it and were fruitful and multiplied exceedingly: (v.27).

Israelite were in Egypt but separated from Egyptians in their living style and distance. Despite the fact that they were in Egypt they enjoyed God’s open heaven and were fruitful .Therefore they multiplied not little, but exceedingly, the favour of the Lord was upon them.
In the same vein Christians are in the world but separate from the world in living and character; we are in the world but not of this world. As we live for GOD, obey and serve Him, we will receive his favour. He will grant us open heaven and then the people of God will flourish as Israel multiplied exceedingly. When we obey and serve him consistently, we will have unceasing prosperity and comfort. “If they obey and serve him they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasure” (Job. 36:11).
The incidence of Israel is in the line with the word of the psalmists, “the lord is my shepherd and I shall not want” (Ps. 23:1). As long as the Lord is our shepherd we cannot want instead we will have an overflow, God always blesses to overflow as it was with Israel at Egypt who had an overflow (exceeding increase).
God wants good for us, it is his purpose and will for us to enjoy good health, longevity. He wants to prosper you in whatever you do, He wants you to eat the good food you desire to eat, He wants you to live in a comfortable environment, and in fact God wants the best for you
Sometimes situations of life may make somebody think that God does not care anymore, the enemy sometimes engages people in dialogue, where he deceives them to believe that God is the source and cause of their uncomfortable situations. To them he is responsible for their inability to meet up. They claim that He does not want any good for them. Such person that imagines this should understand that the enemy is holding them down with his deception. God is good, a strong hold in the time of trouble and always helps them that trust In Him (Nahum 1:107). He wants you to live a fulfilled life complete your days and return home in Good old age.

Action: God is good, He lifts up those that are cats down and helps the troubled making provisions for the needy.

Prayer Points
1.       Oh Lord, draw me closer to you all the days of my life.
2.       Help me to trust in your unfathomable faithfulness and kindness.
3.       Grant me breakthrough at every difficult cross-road of life.
