Pursue Your Goal: Ignore Distractions

Nehemiah 2:9-12, 19-20

“The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding….”

anballat the Horonite and Tobiah the servant, the Amonite and Geshen the Arabian sought to distract Nehemiah from what he had set himself to do. They were sad that a man had come to seek the welfare of the children of Israel. Whenever you determine to do something for God, the devil will seek to hinder you, he does this through thoughts and even uses human agents.

Whenever you come across such, entertain no fear but declare like Nehemiah that the God of heaven will prosper you in what you are doing and so you will arise and build.

When God wants you to do something, He will make you have a burden in your inner man concerning that thing. Having a burden and a concern about something is one of the ways God speaks to man. When you pay attention to those who are out to distract you, you will waste precious time and energy that can be used for something positive.

Know that when God gives you an assignment, distractions will always come but pray for wisdom to know the best way to act and to ignore the distractions and concentrate on your goal.
