“…Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads
of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done”

od beholds every city and knows the good and the evil taking
place there. He knows what every man is involved in. In today’s text, we
understand that God expects everyone to be praying and crying unto Him on
behalf of the city he lives in.
God
desires that we should live in quiet dwelling places but what do we see and
hear? We hear of robberies, murders and people disappearing on daily basis. God
expects that His people should be concerned about this and pray and cry unto
Him for the healing of the land. Those who were not doing this were killed.
Judgment started from the house of the Lord and from the ancients. It is a
fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:31).
In 2
Chronicles 7:14, the Lord said, “If my people which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked
ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land”.
Escape
the judgment by enlisting in the team of those daily praying for the nation.
